3.1 What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how you use the site. We use both cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels) — collectively referred to as “cookies” in this policy.
3.2 How we use cookies
We group cookies into two categories. Only “Strictly necessary” cookies are set by default. Analytics cookies require your consent through our cookie banner.
Strictly necessary cookies (always on — no consent required)
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-<project>-auth-token | Supabase Auth | Session JWT for signed-in users | 1 hour, auto-refreshed |
sb-<project>-refresh-token | Supabase Auth | Refresh token for keeping you signed in | 7 days |
seorav-theme | SEORav | Remembers your light/dark theme preference | 1 year |
CookieConsent | Cookiebot | Stores which cookie categories you accepted | 1 year |
Analytics cookies (consent required)
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ph_phc_*_posthog | PostHog | Anonymous distinct ID + event tracking | 1 year |
ph_phc_*_session | PostHog | Active session marker | 30 minutes |
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors on our marketing pages and blog | 2 years |
_ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics | Persists session state | 2 years |
PostHog is also used for session replay — recording dashboard interactions for the purpose of debugging and product improvement. Session replays are tied to your account once you sign in. Text you type into form fields is masked before recording, and the contents of network requests are not recorded. You can opt out of session replay (and all other PostHog analytics) by declining the analytics cookie category in our cookie banner. To change your mind later, use the Cookie preferences link in the website footer.
Stripe cookies (only on the billing page)
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe cookies | Stripe | Fraud detection during Checkout (only loaded on /billing) | per Stripe policy |
Stripe cookies are only loaded when you visit the billing page; they are not present on other pages and are essential for fraud prevention during payment processing.
3.3 How to manage cookies
Cookie banner
When you first visit seorav.com, you’ll see a cookie banner with these options:
- Accept all — enables analytics cookies and PostHog session replay
- Reject all — only strictly necessary cookies are set
- Customize — choose which categories to accept
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie preferences” link in the website footer.
Browser settings
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the platform from working correctly.
3.4 Do Not Track signals
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it, and our consent banner does not read it. Nothing non-essential is set until you accept it in the banner, so declining there achieves the same result. Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals are handled the same way.
3.5 Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this policy as our cookie usage changes. The “Last updated” date reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be re-announced through the cookie banner.
