Tracked across the four AI engines that matter in 2026
ChatGPTPerplexityClaudeGemini
The problem every marketing team is quietly hitting

Your traffic is flat. Your rankings are stable.
And your category is moving to ChatGPT without you.

In 2026, the search bar is no longer the front door. ChatGPT processes over a billion weekly queries. Perplexity has crossed 100 million. Every commercial query — "best CRM for startups," "how to reduce SaaS churn," "is X better than Y" — increasingly gets answered inside an AI response. The user reads the answer. They don't click.

Three things break at once. First, you lose the click — the AI summarizes your page and the user moves on. Second, you lose attribution — Google Analytics doesn't show citations from ChatGPT, and Search Console doesn't either. Third, you lose the optimization playbook — keyword density, backlinks, and meta tags don't decide what gets cited inside an LLM's answer.

The discipline that replaces classic SEO is LLM SEO — making your content findable, citable, and quotable across both search engines and AI engines. Most tools haven't caught up. Most teams don't know it's a different game.

  • Search Console doesn't track AI engines

Citations are invisible. You could be quoted 100× a week by ChatGPT and never know.

  • AI-friendly content is structurally different

Answer-first openings, schema graphs, citation chains, named-entity density. None of these show up in Ahrefs.

  • Generic AI writers produce slop LLMs won't quote

No distinctive claims, no authority chains, no brand voice. Generic content gets ignored.

  • Manual editing kills agency margins

20 minutes of review per article × 30 articles = no time saved.

The category framework

Three optimization games.
Most tools only know how to play one.

Classic SEO gets you on Google's results page. AEO gets you cited as a source inside an AI answer. GEO gets your specific words paraphrased into the answer itself. They're different signals, different rules, different wins. SEORav is the only platform built to score and optimize for all three.

What we actually built

Five things competitors keep promising.
We're shipping them.

Every other "AI SEO" tool ships a chat prompt with a UI bolted on. SEORav is the LLM SEO engine built end-to-end for AEO and GEO — five compounding layers from brand-voice extraction to citation tracking, every one of them measurable, documented, and auditable. The only AI CMO platform you need to take content from URL paste to AI citation.

PILLAR 01 · QUALITY

Deterministic 22-signal AEO scorecard

Every article runs through 22 signals across four families: classic SEO (7), answer-engine (8), authority (4 + brand-mention hard gate), brand-fit (3). No LLM grades itself. Pure Python. Same input, same score, every time. Weights tuned per article template — Wirecutter reviews need more citations, TLDRs need tighter word counts.

22 signals · 4 familiesPublished spec →
PILLAR 02 · VOICE

Brand voice extraction with drift detection

Three-lane analysis. We read 30–50 of your existing pages to build a voice fingerprint — reading grade, sentence length, paragraph rhythm, dominant pronoun, signature phrases, what you avoid. Drift outside ±2 reading grades fails the gate. Your voice doesn't drift across 30 articles.

3-lane extractionLive drift detection
PILLAR 03 · STRATEGY

9-stage strategy pipeline

Audit your existing content. Generate 80–200 keyword candidates. Enrich with live SERP data (AI Overview presence, FAQ rich results, People-Also-Ask). Score each for AEO winnability. Cluster by topic. Pick a pillar. Build a 30-day calendar with pre-written briefs. Five minutes from URL paste to publishable plan.

9 stages · resumable30-day calendar
PILLAR 04 · PUBLISHING

CMS-agnostic publishing with verification

Five native adapters: Webflow, Ghost, WordPress, HubSpot, generic webhook. Schema injection per platform. Post-publish verifier re-fetches the live URL to confirm everything stuck. Six-hour healthchecks catch token expiry. Six-attempt retry with exponential backoff. Most tools assume — we verify.

5 adapters · self-healingVerified publishes
PILLAR 05 · THE FEEDBACK LOOP NOBODY ELSE HAS

Closed-loop AI citation tracking

Every week, our cron polls ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Gemini with your top 20 target keywords — exactly as a real user would. We parse every response, match URLs against your published articles, and record every citation in your dashboard. Without this, you're optimizing for AI search blindfolded. Every other tool in this category is.

What the gate catches

Two articles. Same keyword.
One ships. One doesn't.

Both written by the same AI. Both about the same topic. The 22-signal gate catches the difference before either reaches your reviewer queue.

"How to reduce customer churn"

"In this article, we'll explore the topic of customer churn and discuss several strategies that businesses can use to reduce it. Let's dive in!"

  • Generic opening — fails answer-first signal (under 65 words, no keyword in sentence one)
  • 17 brand mentions in body — hard-gate fail
  • 2 external citations, all to brand's own blog
  • No FAQ schema, no HowTo schema attached
  • Reading grade 14.1 vs brand baseline 10.2 (drift fail)
  • Listicle of obvious tips — zero distinctive claims

"How to reduce customer churn"

"Customer churn drops fastest when teams combine three inputs: structured onboarding, dedicated success owners, and in-product nudges. The compound effect can reduce voluntary churn by 40% within 90 days."

  • 78-word answer-first opening — keyword in first sentence
  • 1 brand mention in body, 1 in CTA — within cap
  • 5 external citations — Stripe, HBR, OpenView, ProfitWell, First Round
  • FAQ + Article + Breadcrumb schema attached
  • Reading grade 10.4 — within ±2 of brand baseline
  • Specific numbers ("40%", "90 days", "3 inputs") — high quote-fitness for GEO

Questions we get on every demo

Eight things you might be wondering.
We answered them straight.

How is this different from Frase?

Frase is a workbench for human writers. You paste a keyword, it gives you a brief, you write the article, it scores against the SERP. SEORav is the workflow above and below that. We start by extracting your brand voice from your real content. We end by tracking which AI engines cite you. The middle layer is the same idea but more deterministic — 22 signals you can audit, not a SERP score that drifts every Google update. We also score for GEO. Frase doesn't.

How is this different from Outrank.so?

Outrank's quality gate is the LLM grading itself, which is a known failure mode. Their backlink exchange is a Google policy violation waiting to be devalued. Their citation tracking is ChatGPT-only. If you measure success by "articles published," they win on price. If you measure by "citations earned" or "rankings that survive 90 days," the math changes. We're built for the second metric.

Won't Google penalise AI content?

Google has stated it doesn't penalize AI content per se — it penalizes unhelpful, derivative content. Our 22-signal gate is specifically designed to make derivative content fail: brand-mention caps, source diversity requirements, distinctiveness scoring, voice match. Articles that ship through SEORav typically pass Google's helpful-content guidelines.

Why should I trust a 1-week-old startup?

You shouldn't — not blindly. Three things to verify us with: (1) Run the free AEO audit on your own site — see the methodology working in 30 seconds. (2) Read the 22-signal scoring spec — every signal documented, every weight published. (3) Take the 7-day free trial. If we're not measurably better than what you're using, walk away. We're new. Our methodology isn't.

Can I just build this with ChatGPT myself?

You can. We did the math. A 22-signal deterministic gate is roughly 1,200 lines of Python plus 8 weeks of test data to tune the weights. A 4-engine citation tracker is API access + parsing logic + URL matching + a cron — 4 weeks. Voice extraction with drift detection is 3 months minimum. We've spent two years on this. £79–399/month buys you the skip on the build.

Does it work for non-English content?

Today: English only. Adding Spanish, German, and French is on the roadmap for Q4 2026. Email us if you have a specific need — we may prioritize.

What about my CMS?

Native adapters: Webflow, Ghost, WordPress, HubSpot. Generic webhook for everything else (Sanity, Contentful, Strapi, Framer, Notion, custom). The webhook adapter publishes a structured JSON payload — your dev wires it to your CMS in roughly an hour.

Is my data secure?

All connections are OAuth or scoped API tokens — we never store your CMS password. Generated content is yours and we don't train on it. Encrypted at rest. SOC 2 audit scheduled for Q3 2026.

A note from Rav

Why I built SEORav.

I'm Rav. I'm a serial founder — I've built and sold companies for over a decade. SEORav is my fifth.

I built it because I needed it. Every company I've run, content has been the cheapest distribution channel — when it works. When it doesn't, you're producing slop nobody reads, paying agencies for articles that don't rank, and wondering why your competitors are quoted by ChatGPT and you're not.

By 2025 it was obvious the search bar was moving. I started checking which articles got cited by ChatGPT and Perplexity. Mine almost never did. Not because they were bad — because they were structured for Google, not for an answer engine.

I built the first version of the 22-signal scorecard for myself. It wasn't a product yet. It was a checklist I ran my own articles through before publishing. The articles that scored above 90 started getting cited. The ones below 75 didn't. Same writer, same topic, same word count — different structure.

Then I added voice extraction, because I was tired of AI content that sounded like nobody. Then strategy, because keyword research was the slowest part of my week. Then citation tracking, because I needed proof the work was paying off. Two years later, that's SEORav.

We're a one-week-old company. We have no customers yet. The only people on this platform are me, two engineers, and a content lead. I'm telling you that directly because I'd rather you knew.

What we do have: a methodology that works, a scoring spec we publish openly, and a 7-day trial that lets you check us against any URL you own. Run the free AEO audit. Read the 22-signal spec. If we're not measurably better than what you're using, walk away. We've earned no benefit of the doubt yet — we'll earn it through what the product does.

If you want to talk to me directly, rav@seorav.com. I read every email.

A few last questions, in case you have them.

What happens after the 7-day trial?

If you've claimed a founding seat, your card is charged at the founding rate ($69 per month) on day 8 — locked forever. If you cancel during the trial, your card is never charged and your founding seat returns to the pool. No auto-conversion, no surprises.

Can I switch tiers later?

Up: yes, anytime, prorated. Founding rate applies to your new tier. Down: yes, takes effect at next billing cycle. Cancel: anytime, one click.

What's "lifetime founding pricing" exactly?

Your monthly price never increases, no matter what we do to standard pricing. The discount is locked to your account.

How do I know you'll still be here in 12 months?

You don't, with certainty. I'm self-funded and not running on VC pressure. If you're worried about lock-in, every article we generate is yours, exportable as Markdown, and your data is portable on cancel.
